"Please let me share a little about myself and my background..."

My education gave me a solid base; however, there is no substitute for experience.  Experience is exactly what I bring to this position.  After starting in a new position, most people have the luxury of easing into responsibilities as they develop skills.  Unfortunately, or fortunately, I never had such a luxury.  Right out of law school, I had to put my M.B.A. and skills to work as the C.O.O. of a corporation that was well established and highly visible in the industry.  I completely reorganized the corporation, expanded the market, and fostered stability through both policies and incentives.  My crucible changed, but never diminished when I moved to Las Vegas.  I anticipated focusing more on the law.  As fate would have it, the corporation was much larger, yet no more organized than the one I had left.  Immediately I became embedded in the Human Resources arena, and I frankly “loved it!”  I enjoy helping a corporation work better and increasing performance through job satisfaction.   Job satisfaction is a phrase that means nothing without implementation.  In the last 10 years, I have decreased turn-over (60% change), increased safety (70% decrease ($1M/yr)  in Worker Comp costs), and vastly improved relations with the three unions.

People handle adversity two ways; either retreat or fight.  I am a fighter; I accomplish the corporate goals through my indomitable spirit.  Before reacting, I ensure that I have all pertinent information.  By clearly explaining conceptual goals, I create a team which cooperates because they know what is expected.  Instead of having several small cliques, which can often undermine the goals of the team, I unite everyone into a single clique.  People are more comfortable when their expectations are clearly understood, and their efforts are supported by the team as a whole.  In such a case there exists an enjoyable and productive environment.

Managing People is more than a job to me—it's my passion to bring people together and maximize their potential.
